Plitvice Waterfall

Plitvice Lakes National Park

This is an ideal attraction all year round and can be very different depending on the time of year you visit, from the early growth of new flowers and rushing water as the freshly melted snow increases the water over the spectacular waterfalls to the autumn as the trees change colour ready for the winter snow and the busy summer period when the park is at its busiest. Plitvice Lakes was awarded UNESCO status in 1979 and is the oldest national park and a major tourist attraction for Croatia. The park is well serviced with public transport to and from the park with English speaking guides to assist you enjoy the park.

Samobor Hills

A popular weekend retreat for many Zagreb citizens Samobor offers an interesting excursion round some hidden vineyards, look out for the 'kleti' signs on the side of the road for small cellars that are open to the public, you will need something to wash down the 'Kemsnita' a delicious custard tart.

Samobor Carnival - Carnival celebrations are top on the list during February in Samobor with traditions dating back to 1872 with masked dances, parades with carnival floats and culminating in a firework display.

Croatia National Theatre - The theatre plays host to some legendary international artists throughout the year including being a spectacular attraction in its own right.
Mimara Museum - Housing a vast collection of one of the great art collections in Europe collected by Ante Topic Mimara includes old masters paintings, sculptures, Chinese antiquities and roman artefacts.
Zagreb Card - Don’t forget to get your Zagreb Card for unlimited travel on public transport, these cards can be purchased for 24 or 72 hours at many hotels as well as tourist information offices and will also give you reduced prices in the city's museums and restaurants.
