Islands
Krk - the largest of the Croatian islands and most accessible with a road bridge connecting Krk to the mainland, with its own airport Croatia Airlines fly direct from London.
Cres - second largest of Croatia’s islands with its history comes from the legend of Jason and the Argonauts and the search for the Golden Fleece.
Rab - is not as developed as the larger islands and still retains a magnificent medieval town.
Attractions
Carnival - Rijeka hosts one of the largest carnivals in Europe every year, the Rijeka Carnival lasts for six weeks with concerts, parades, dances and performances all over the city.
Opatija Riviera - is a stretch of 25 miles of the Kvarner coastline that enjoys a good year round climate due to protection from the mountain ranges including Mt Ucka that provide the backdrop to Kvarner bay.
Paklenica National Park
Located at the southern end of the 90 mile Velebit range the Paklenica national park covers an area of 38 sq miles and offers a wide range of activities to keep the most active visitors amused. The park is dominated by teo limestone gorges Velika Paklenica and Mala Paklenica you will have to pay an admission charge on entering the park to go towards the upkeep. Once inside the park there are main marked walks for different skill levels, the path past the Paklenica Mill goes past a series of secret bunkers used by the former Yugoslav army.
